Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Junior doctors from various medical colleges reached Nabanna today for a crucial meeting aimed at resolving the ongoing impasse over the RG Kar rape and murder case. The doctors, who have been on strike demanding better safety and security measures, met with state officials, including Chief Secretary Dr. Manoj Pant.
This meeting follows an invitation from the state government to address the doctors' concerns and discuss the formation of a task force for hospital safety. The doctors’ strike has significantly affected medical services, and today's discussions are seen as pivotal in restoring normalcy.
The state government has already fulfilled several demands, including transferring key police and health department officials, but the doctors continue to push for additional security assurances before resuming their duties.
